About the Site

Ralph Arnold (1928-2006) was an American artist, teacher, and much more. He was my mentor when I studied art history at Loyola in the mid-80’s. We lost touch after I graduated and, except for an occasional reminder, I didn’t think much about Ralph.

After many years away from buying or creating art, I decided to start building a small collection. On an auction website, I came across a collage Ralph had created in 1962 and I bought it.

When I started researching Ralph online, I was shocked to see that there wasn’t a repository for his works. Mentions, artwork, etc., were scattered and pretty minimal.

Not really looking for a project but finding one, I felt like he deserved to be remembered better than that. I launched this website to accumulate what I could of the life and art of Ralph Moffett Arnold.

If you know someone who owns a piece by Ralph and would be willing to share a photo and some info, please pass this website along.

If you or someone you know have seen an article in a magazine, book, or post on a website that mentions him, I would love to hear about it.

If you or someone you know can share an exhibition he participated in, that would be great.

Thanks in advance for helping me build this website, I know I couldn’t do this on my own.
